City Parks

The City maintains over 170 acres of parks and green space and has a routine maintenance schedule implemented by the Works Department. Public partnerships are vital, and several service clubs and organizations voluntarily maintain parkettes and green spaces. Be sure to visit Pansy Patch Park, a quiet oasis in the middle of the city and the Waterfront, the primary people place of Pembroke!

Coronation Park
Built in 1937 the year of the coronation of King George VI, located along-side City Hall.

Pansy Patch Park
Often called the "jewel” of the City, Pansy Patch Park is a 10 acre island park in the heart of Pembroke. Accessed by Dickson Street off Mackay Street, this oasis-like parcel contains some of the finest horticultural land in the County. Beautiful flower beds, exotic trees, bordered by the Muskrat River, the Park’s terrain is diverse and presents superb opportunities to stroll around in a magnificent natural setting, mountain bike or simply relax on the banks of the River.

Riverside Park
With its spacious, treed gathering areas, Pembroke's Riverside Park is within walking distance of the downtown core. It boasts a number of amusements including: mini-golf, horseshoe pits, ball diamonds, soccer pitches, playground apparatus, picnic area, washrooms, snack bar, ample free parking, field house and tourist information centre. Riverside Park is also home to the community's campground with all level of services provided.

The campground is open May long weekend to Thanksgiving (weather permitting).

Rotary Park
Located on James Street in Pembroke, Rotary Park is a very busy neighborhood park. Through the generous support of the Rotary Club of Pembroke, the park has beautiful tennis courts, playground equipment, splash pad, and is home to the Rotary Park & Play program during the summer. Winter is a busy time in Rotary Park with two outdoor rinks operational January – March (weather permitting).

The Waterfront
The Waterfront has been magically transformed into a brand new, exciting, people place. The boardwalk starts at the Kiwanis Walkway and extends along the shores of the Ottawa River out to the prominent light house. Lots of benches, tables and gazebos are available for rest stops and enjoyment of beautiful sunsets.

The Pembroke Marina has mooring facilities for up to 100 boats. The Marina operates daily throughout the summer season, May long weekend to Thanksgiving - providing excellent launching facilities, washrooms, showers and laundry facilities, charts, pump out, gas, oil, ice, bait, and parking.
