Doors Open Ontario will be held in Pembroke on September 24, 2011. Doors Open Ontario is a province wide celebration designed to create access, awareness and excitement about our architectural & cultural heritage.
This year, over 60 communities, including Pembroke, have chosen to participate in this initiative that strives to help communities recognize and celebrate their heritage, strengthen and encourage local tourism, and contribute to local economies.
Different sites will be opening their doors to the public on September 24th, providing a behind the scenes peak at what goes on behind (usually) closed doors.
The public can check out the following locations:
- Champlain Trail Museum
- City Hall basement
- Cogeco TV
- Hydro Museum
- Pembroke Armouries
- Pembroke Public Library
- Pembroke Pollution Plant
- Pembroke Water Purification Plant
- Pembroke Superior Courthouse
