Recreation & Tourism Department

The Recreation and Tourism Department oversees the planning and implementation of  recreation programs, bookings for city owned facilities, special events including Canada Day Festivities, Waterfront Festival, Santa Claus Parade, Snospree, and Waterfront Live. The Department manages Riverside Park Tent and Trailer Campground and the Pembroke Marina. It also maintains a Volunteer Program and actively recruits members of the community to assist with public events.

It is responsible for tourism publications including the Tourism Guide, Street Map and Z card in partnership with the Ottawa Valley Tourist Association.

Parks and Trails
The City of Pembroke is blessed with beautiful green space and parkland with which to enjoy. The Waterfront is home to the Kiwanis Way Waterfront Walking Trail and there’s 138 of acres of open space to relax in. Other prominent parks in Pembroke include Coronation Park, Dunlop Park, Harvey Fraser Park, Kinsmen Park, Pansy Patch Park, Riverside Park, and Rotary Park.

Playing Fields
Top quality playing fields are available to sports groups for reasonable rental fees through the Recreation, Culture and Youth Department. Ball and soccer fields are available at Riverside Park and additional ball fields are available at Kinsmen Park and the V.O.N. complex. ...Learn more
