Just found this site, nice to read comments about Pembroke. I was born and raised there, went to Cathedral and Champlain High. We moved in 1968. Been back a few times but not for a few years, maybe this year. If you think you know me, drop me a message at kim.ellis@encode.com

Resided in Pembroke '73-78 (Army Brat) @ Highview and PSPS. At this time myself and Les Scott were the only 2 Leaf fans in Pembroke! Fond memories and a great place to be a kid!

We really enjoyed walking around your waterfront park - a really idea to have the names of the various donors on each plank. Brian & Bridget Hill

I just happened to be doing a google search on any info on events and people from Pembroke and to my surprise found this site. :O) Yay for me. I read the previous comments from people presently living in Pembroke and also from those who've moved away, the general consensus it there that no matter where you hang your hat Pembroke will ALWAYS BE HOME to us all. On a personal note Pembroke has turned out a lot of canadian talent in all forms of art. The more known is a fantastic country musical artist going by the name of Jason Blaine. Amazing we sure know how to turn em out. Anyways take good care and keep up the great work guys, Thank You. Sincerely, Wade Arnold Gardner :O)

Hello, always a pleasure to see something about this nice place in the www. I´ve spend 3month in summer 1987 in Pembroke, was a great and really hot summer. I worked at Superior Electrics as an electrician. I lived at the home from Erich Kost, who has had the Pembroke Cake Decorating on the main street cross over from a jewellery. Know later he changed his business to work home, think one of his daughter takes it over (Lynda or Louise) after his death in 1994. I do not know if his wife Reanice Sullivan is still alive. If anybody could remember me please try to contact me: medja@freenet.de I remember the girl´s name working in the shop was Gale, his neighbour's name was John and I´ve spend a nice day on the sea with Hans ?Odainar? from the Germanian Club. I just sort of stumbled upon this site. I lived in Pembroke from the 60's to 1980 and went to Our Lady's High School and Fellowes High School. I've only been back to Pembroke a couple of times since I left, but enjoyed myself while I was there. It was a great place to grow up. And living there I met so many wonderful people that will forever stay in my memories. Since then I've lived in the Maritimes and now in Kingston. Would love to hear from old friends! I've already been chatting with one dear friend and he reminded me of what I gave up! Contact me at Candy_Hoffman@hotmail.com (hoffman WAS my married name and I just never changed it on my hotmail account....I know, poor pitiful me).

Candy Jones, Kingston Ontario

My mother was born in Pembroke on Sept 4, 1945. She and her sister lived with their bith mother for a few years before they were adopted by Ida & Art Hammel. They lived on Hamilton St. in Pembroke and their birth mother didn't live far from them. I'm trying to complete our family geneology.

Nice city, was stationed there in 1966 and met a wonderful girl Marilyn Reckzin. Have often thought about her and her 1966 red dodge fury convertible. Pembroke and her was the nicest summer of my life.

Lived in Pembroke and worked @ Pembroke General from 1985- 1989...LOVED IT ! It was great to see lots of familiar sites on the web , I certainly hope to visit again someday .Pembroke's 'people' are wonderly 'down to earth', although we have lost touch over the years , I continue to think of them often and wish them well...Di

I would just like to extend my belated congradulations to Captain Dave Hawkins. They are very lucky to have him as acting C.O.P. Mr Hawkins is a good, very caring and concientious person. I want to wish him the best of luck, while he is serving this position. In my dealings with him as a police officer, he was very kind and helpful to me and my family, at a very rough time in our lives. Thank you again and the best of luck to you.

Brenda Hewer, Dartmouth, NS

I used to live in Pembroke a long time ago and trying to connect with friends that I use to hang around with and also trying to find out if Champlain High School is going to have a school reunion or maybe already had one.

Anybody remember Pleasant View Public School..Say..1961 thru 1965...

Came "home" last year after a long absence...stayed at the Grey Gables Manor, a beautiful B&B. Walked down the streets and was shocked at the changes. After 50 years, it has changed a lot. Visited my homes when I was a child and saw old friends and relatives that are still there. Visited my roots (Witt Road and area) in Locksley and enjoyed myself thoroughly.

Pat Rogers (nee Witt), Prince Rupert, B.C.

I use to live in Pembroke and went to Highview, PSPS & Fellowes(74-79). I now live in Peterborough but still miss Pembroke. I do try to get up to Pembroke to visit whenever I can, it is still the greatest area around.

Thank you to all those who help make this site functional, it is very useful. Pembroke is a very beautiful place and it is because of you that peoples can see what is going on.

Very nice site. I see that there are many more murals for me to see next time I visit. It was nice to see the City I grew up in, brings back memories.

Steven Gravelle, Vancouver, BC

Hi. Don't know if anybody will remember as I was quite a shy girl, but I went to St. Pat's, Bishop Smith and Fellowes. I graduated Fellowes in 1976. Been reminiscing lately and trying to find people. Pembroke is such a cool place to live. I miss the small town atmosphere and kindness of the people. This big city life ain't all its cracked up to be. Anyways, if anybody out there remembers me, drop me a line.

Patty Rich (Pat Ladouceur), Calgary, AB

I have just recovered a copy of The Link magazine dated Dec 1965 showing people from the Delta Acceptance Corporation. It would be interesting to know if Sheila Lisk is still around? She might have worked with my aunt.

I was born and raised in Pembroke but moved away in the summer of 1982 to the wild wild west city of Calgary, Alberta . Had lived in Calgary for almost 20 years and now reside in Vancouver, BC. I sure do miss the small town atmosphere of Pembroke. It was a great place to grow up and hope to return some day for a visit or to reside. Would love to hear from anyone of my past friends and schoolmates. Take care and keep well.

Michelle Clarke (nee Ouellette), Vancouver, BC

PEMBROKE is my home town! My family is many generations from there and I spent much of my childhood there. I miss it so much, love the chip wagons!! Anyone remember, please email me!

Sue Freeman (formerly Glendinning), Katy, Texas

Have been gone from Pembroke for 20 years and miss it. You don't realize what a great town it is until you are gone. Hi to all my old friends from Champlain High '81-'84

Dawn Lyons (Buske), Toronto

It is coming up to 25 years that I have graduated from Fellowes. Is anyone organizing a reunion???? It would be great fun to see everyone.

Gayle Hamilton, Kitchener, Ontario

I was born in Pembroke, was Pembroke "miracle baby, being 4 months premature and 1 pound 11 oz. at birth. I resided in Pembroke until 1996. While there I went to Laurentian Ppublic School then 2 years at Fellowes High school. I still have old friends and family who live there. If there is anyone around reading this that remembers me or such, drop me an email. As for the city itself, it has a small town heart that is unique in itself, a great riverside front and friendly people.
