Pembroke Police Service

"PROVIDING THE BEST FOR THE BEST"

IF YOU HAVE AN EMERGENCY CALL 9-1-1

Here's What's Happening

- The Pembroke Police Service is currently investigating mischief done to the West half of the downtown area. Throughout the weekend of the 15 and 16 of November 2008, numerous buildings, signs and vehicles were spray painted. ( for more info see media release 17 Nov 2008 )

- The Pembroke Police Service is now using a LIDAR unit for speed enforcement on the City of Pembroke's roadways. A Lidar unit uses light opposed to the conventional Radar units which use radio waves. Lidar units can pick up a vehicle's speed at a greater distance away and it helps eliminate target identification defenses in court.

- "The services board are in the process of drafting a new strategic business plan that will attempt to address federal and provincial concerns including common issues and trends,as well as the concerns of all city stakeholders...through input from our stakeholders, both internally and externally, it will be determined which direction our service will take in the coming years...This input will be sought through various public surveys, internal surveys, and focus groups...Please stay tuned!"

- Acting Deputy Chief John Mellon and Cst. Shawn Piercey receive National Medals of Bravery from the Governor General of Canada Michaelle Jean for rescuing a man from the Muskrat River in November 2007.
