Windsor Hotel
Windsor Hotel, 147 Mackay Street
March 15, 1984 8:48 a.m.
This 100-year-old landmark had seen numerous renovations. During such renovations a fire began and continued unnoticed for an undetermined amount of time in the south end of the building. Upon arrival firefighters were faced with multiple ceilings and false walls which concealed and promoted the spread of fire, undetected to the other sections of the buildings. Fourteen full-time members and seven auxiliary firefighters were called in to battle this blaze. The hotel was rebuilt at the same location.
