Train Derailment October 05, 1996 8:00 p.m.![]() Fire fighters responded to a report of a westbound train derailed along the shores of the Ottawa River bordering Nelson Street. Upon arrival they found five rail tankers off the tracks. The tankers were empty but still had residue of anhydrous ammonia in them. The fire department quickly ascertained that there was not any hazardous materials leaking and there was no need for evacuation. |
